Barton Springs is another of our favorite places in Austin. The waters were considered sacred by the Tonkawas and used for purification rituals. The Spanish settled temporary missions along its banks before moving on to San Antonio. Today, Austinites use it as a gathering place and as a means of escaping the extreme summers. Visit the main pool, find some of the lesser-known sister springs, and enjoy one of Austin's most treasured places. Take a photo of the group here. Bonus points for every team member who takes a dip into the springs.
